Why Macmillan?

Cancer is an insidious disease which doesn't discriminate. One in three of us will get it.  Some, like my Dad, don't survive.  Macmillan Cancer Support is there every step of the way for those affected, whatever the outcome.

Why Art?

No amount of money can make Cancer go away but hopefully one of the pieces in this show could be your permanent reminder of someone missed, ill, in remission or given the all clear and in the process help a charity who right now are caring for someone else's loved one.

Why a Website?

When this appeal went out back in October 2011 the outcome was unknown.  By the submission deadline we'd received almost 200 donations for the show at Georges House Gallery that ran from the 17th to 28th February.  Sadly, we only had exhibition space for 55 pieces of work.   The aim of this website was to show the work being exhibited at Georges House Gallery as well as the work we sadly didn't have space to exhibit ("website only" page).

The Folkestone Macmillan Art Show was one of a number of fundraising initiatives organised and hosted by Tom Langlands to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.  If you'd like any additional information regarding the amount raised please visit www.justgiving.com/Tom-Langlands
